Hutchings Wharf, Isle of Dogs, E14
This was the site of a former leadworks factory which Hollybrook acquired from the banks’ receivers.
After extensive negotiations with the Planning Authority (LDDC), Hollybrook obtained planning consent for a residential scheme of 54 apartments comprising four separate buildings varying in height from four to ten storeys.
Although it was Hollybrook’s first high rise development, careful planning and close management ensured a trouble free construction process, on budget and within programme.
Hollybrook’s endeavours were rewarded with the RIBA Housing Design Award (1999) for excellence of design and construction. This is a hard-won achievement and one for which Hollybrook is justifiably proud. Hutchings Wharf is, without doubt, one of the finest developments of its type in London Docklands.
